Inside and outside Büyük Hamam, the Ottoman bath of 1571–1590 in the walled old city of Nicosia.
These photographs were taken at Büyük Hamam on İrfan Bey Sokak, behind Büyük Han in old Nicosia. They show the hot room beneath its star-lit dome, the heated göbek taşı, the cooling hall with its fountain and timber galleries, the hammam ritual, massages and the building at dusk.
